AUTHORITIES arrested the suspect hours after the killing of a 30-year-old man in an east coast village in Zamboanga City, the police said Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) identified the arrested suspect as a certain Rodgin, 25, a resident of Cabaluay village, 19 kilometers east of the city proper.
The ZCPO said Rodgin was arrested in the morning of Monday, March 24, in a follow-up police operation in the morning of Monday, March 24, in Cabaluay village.
The ZCPO said Rodgin was behind the killing of Prince Romnick Bucoy Alejandro, 30. The incident took place around 12:50 a.m. Monday, March 24, at Purok 1 in Cabluay village.
The police said that base on information provided by a witness, Alejandro was having a drinking spree with his friends when the suspect approached and shot the victim.
Alejandro was rushed to the hospital but expired while under medical treatment.
The arrested suspect was placed under the custody of the Zamboanga City Police Station 3 (ZCPS3) while charges are being readied to be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
