AUTHORITIES have arrested the top most wanted person in Rizal province in an intelligence-driven law enforcement operation in Lanao del Sur, the police said Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Romeo Macapaz, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) director, identified the arrested most wanted person as alias Toper, a resident of San Vicente village, Angono, Rizal.
Macapaz said Toper was nabbed in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest on Tuesday, April 29, in Sitio Bagong Silang, Banga village, Wao, Lanao del Sur.
Toper was listed as the top most wanted person in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon).
He said Toper has a standing warrant of arrest for murder and Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 issued by a court in Binangonan, Rizal dated July 14, 2021.
The court has set no bail for the crime of murder and P3,000 recommended bail for the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
"The successful capture of a known most wanted person is proof that no one who breaks the law is safe. Through strong community relations and intensified intelligence-driven operations, we are demonstrating that criminality will never triumph," Macapaz said.
He said Toper was placed under the temporary custody of Wao Municipal Police Station awaiting commitment order from the court. (SunStar Zamboanga)
