THE Social Security System (SSS)-Zamboanga Branch continues to strengthen its outreach efforts of bringing social security services closer to local communities through its SSS E-Wheels Program.
The latest outreach efforts targeted the coastal villages of Sangali and Manicahan, both located east of Zamboanga City.
Lawyer Jacinto Felizarta, Acting SSS-Zamboanga Branch head, said Tuesday, July 29, 2025, they were 364 clients -- 249 in Sangali village and 115 in Manicahan village over the course of four-day outreach activity.
"Through the SSS E-Wheels Program, we bring our services directly to the people. This initiative is part of our mission to make social security more convenient and accessible for every member, employer, and pensioner-regardless of their location," Felizarta said.
The residents, during the activity, were able to access a wide range of SSS services such as issuance of Social Security (SS) and Employer Identification numbers, My.SSS online registration and account creation, resetting of password, verification of contributions and loan balances, updating of member information, generation of Payment Reference Numbers (PRNs), enrollment of disbursement accounts, filing of benefit claims and assistance with various inquiries and verifications.
Felizarta said that pensioners were likewise accommodated for their Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (Acop) requirements.
"We encourage all members to take advantage of these outreach activities to check and update their records and avail themselves of SSS benefits and services. Updated membership information allows SSS to better serve our clients, especially during times of need," he added.
He said that to date, SSS-Zamboanga Branch has already conducted 32 SSS E-Wheels Program activities in 2025 which successfully served over 4,210 residents in 23 of Zamboanga City's 98 villages. (SunStar Zamboanga)
