BASILAN Governor Mujiv Hataman on Monday, August 24, 2026, gave each of the 22 learners of the Sta. Clara Special Needs Education (SNED) Center a pair of shoes and P500 to support their studies.
Hataman handed over the assistance during the visit of the SNED Center learners to the People’s Capitol of Basilan in Sta. Clara village, Lamitan City, as part of their Study Tour and celebration of Buwan ng Wika.
The Provincial Government of Basilan said Monday, August 24, that the learners also received food supplies and hygiene kits from Hataman, who warmly welcomed them during the study tour.
“Their advisers and Special Needs Education (SNED) coordinators were also given financial assistance in recognition of their continued guidance and dedication to children with special educational needs,” the Provincial Government of Basilan said in a statement.
The learners were accompanied by their advisers Perla Bentulan and Vicente Bentulan Jr., as well as Christine Santos, SNED Coordinator of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE)-Lamitan City.
“With this simple Study Tour, the children’s visit to the People’s Capitol became even more special—an experience that was not only about learning, but also about making them feel seen, valued, and supported,” The Basilan Provincial Government added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
