THE Tricycle Adjudication Board (TAB) announced on Thursday, January 16, 2025, that 3,270 tricycle operators have applied for franchise renewal as of Wednesday, January 15.
The 3,270 is part of the more than 4,600 units of tricycles that are operating in Zamboanga City based on the list of registration of TAB.
The TAB started the renewal of tricycle franchise on January 2. The franchise renewal period ends on January 20.
The renewal process is done at the TAB office at Centro Latino in Paseo del Mar from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
The TAB said the renewal fee is P350 per franchise.
The TAB said that part of the renewal process is the physical inspection of the unit that is also being conducted at Paseo del Mar.
The physical inspection includes assessment of various tricycle components like brakes, tires, lighting system, and overall structural integrity of the unit.
Aside from physical inspection, the TAB also reviews compliance with proper licensing and insurance documentation for all operators. (SunStar Zamboanga)
