LAWMEN have arrested two high-value individuals (HVIs) as they seized some P13.6 million worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police said Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Abell Laborte, officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforce Group's (PDEG) Special Operations Unit-Zamboanga Peninsula, identified the arrested suspects through their aliases as Ungod, 45, and Choy, 23, residents of Barangay Baliwasan and San Roque, respectively.
Laborte said they were arrested by joint operatives of PDEG and Zamboanga City Police Office in a buy-bust operation around 10:30 p.m. Friday, August 15, near a laundry shop in Baliwasan village.
One cohort of the two arrested suspects identified as alias Marsata eluded arrest.
Laborte said seized from the two arrested suspect were two kilograms of suspected shabu worth P13.6 million, a bundle of P1,000 bills boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill as marked money, several identification cards, and a mobile phone.
The arrested suspects were detained at the Zamboanga City Police Office detention facility in preparation for the filing of case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Friday night's confiscation of P13.6 million suspected shabu is the biggest drug haul in Zamboanga City since August 1.
The first was P1.7 million worth of suspected shabu seized in an anti-drug operation on August 7 at a motel in Guiwan village.
