

LAWMEN have arrested two individuals and seized some P20.4 million worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation Zamboanga City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Friday, April 24, 2026.
Bryan Babang, PDEA-Zamboanga did not identify the arrested suspects except to say they include a resident of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi and of Guiwan village, Zamboanga City.
Babang said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 3 p.m. Friday, April 24, along the bypass road in Cabatangan, Zamboanga City.
Babang said the suspects claimed they were merely acting as couriers, following instructions from their uncle to deliver the illegal drugs when arrested.
He said seized from the two suspects were some three kilos of suspected shabu packed in three transparent plastic packs worth P20.4 million, bundles of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 marked bill and illegal drug paraphernalia.
The suspects were detained pending the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The anti-drug operation was launched by PDEA operatives with the support of the local police. (SunStar Zamboanga)
