THE Zamboanga City Government rolled out on Friday, June 20, 2025, the first-ever cash incentives for solo parents mandated under City Ordinance 666.

Facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the cash incentive for solo parents is P1,000 each quarter or for a total of P4,000 in one year.

Mayor John Dalipe led the rollout on Friday, June 20 at the Multi-Purpose Building of Sta. Barbara village with 480 beneficiaries from barangays under CSWDO Field Office 2.

Aside from Sta. Barbara, distribution of similar incentives was held in the villages of Ayala and Cawit.

“This is a historic day because it marks the first implementation of financial assistance for solo parents,” Dalipe said.

The 480 beneficiaries who received their incentives in the Sta. Barbara payout are from the following villages: Baliwasan, 115; Kampung Islam, 58; Sto. Niño, 27; San Jose Cawa-Cawa, 18; San Jose Gusu, 64; Zone 1, 21; Zone 2, 33; Zone 3, seven; Sta. Barbara, 37; and, Sta. Catalina, 100.

CSWDO Chief Ma. Socorro Rojas said the payout for solo parents will continue in other villages in the city. (SunStar Zamboanga)
