TWENTY-EIGHT potential agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Binalbagan town signed their application to purchase and farmers’ undertakings and took their oath at Binalbagan Municipal Trial Court on Wednesday, December 19.
Of the total number of farmers, 16 are under the landholding formerly owned by Eric Matthew Yulo which covers 3.45 hectares located in Barangay San Jose.
Twelve potential ARBs will divide the 14-hectare landholding formerly owned by Cecilia Clotilde Montilla-Leonardia in Barangay Bagroy.
Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Gloria Canonero said the signing of undertakings and the oath-taking signified that they have qualified in the screening process for inclusion in the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
Presiding Judge Leticia Trigue, who administered the oath of office, discussed to the potential beneficiaries the content of the undertakings.
Trigue encouraged the farmers to work hard and make their land productive.
She also warned them not to engage in illegal activities such as sale and lease of lands, which are grounds for disqualification from the program. (EPN)
