8 CHMSC students in Japan for internship

EIGHT Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC) in Talisay have left for Japan for a six-month internship program there.

The internship program, in collaboration with Asia Development Association (Adca) International Internship and Consultancy Services, is part of CHMSC's internationalization mandate and effort to produce globally competent graduates.

Angela Ching, Ma. Queenie Go, Angelica Posidario, Omar Jay Nuñez, Rovinica Puzon and Joab Javellana, who will undergo their internship at Chuo Food Services Company, Ltd. in Tokyo, left the country on Thursday, January 9.

The other students Elaiza Bugalon and Jay Lynn Suico left Friday, January 10. They will undergo their internship at Chuo Food Services Company, Ltd. in Osaka.

Nieves Barato, their Hospitality Management On-the-Job-Training supervisor, said they are grateful and privileged for the opportunity given to the students to have their internship in Japan.

Barato said the program is helpful to the students as the goal of the school is to produce globally competitive graduates.

"We take the move to enhance and develop students to become dynamic and to be able to face challenges in the world of hospitality and tourism industry," she added.

The internship program started on January 9 and 10 this year.

Prior to this, the students' final orientation was conducted by Adca International Internship and Consultancy Services CEO Kazutaka Nakao together with their representatives Florence Delicano and Rosmyl Morante, CHMSC director for External Affairs Rhoderick Samonte, and International Education support staff Rhanee Lumanog at the school.
