82 farmers in E.B. Magalona town receive Cloas

THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-North has distributed certificates of land ownership award (Cloas) and installed 82 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental on November 12.

They will share the 54-hectare combined aggregated landholdings of Sabina Alpha Corporation and Wayne Forte, among others situated at Barangays Nanca and Alcaygan.

Of the area covered under Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp), 32 hectares are previously owned by Sabina Alpha Corporation to be shared by 49 ARBs.

The remaining 21 hectares are those of Wayne Forte and other previous owners. It will be shared among 33 farmer-beneficiaries.

DAR-Negros Occidental I, in a press release, also said a credit support amounting to P1.1 million through Agrarian Production Credit Program is now on the process for the farmer-members of Dalinson Farmworkers Association.

The amount will be utilized for the cultivation of their 18-hectare sugarcane production, it added.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Tessie Pedrosa, during the distribution and installation rites, discussed the farmer's rights and obligations.
