MEMBERS of the Malanog Calatrava Agrarian Reform Farmers Association (Macarfa), an agrarian reform beneficiaries organization (Arbo) assisted by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental - North, are volunteering in the ongoing relief operations at Barangay Malanog in Calatrava town.

DAR-Negros Occidental I said amid the ongoing fight against coronavirus disease (Covid–19) pandemic that affected the nation, an association without enough resources opted to standout by volunteering and providing their services to assist and support their local governing unit.

The relief goods they packed will be distributed to all households of the barangay. The distribution will run until April 14, 2020.

Also, all agrarian reform beneficiary (ARB) members of the association with habal-habal served as delivery personnel to hasten the distribution.

Others volunteered to be in the frontline services such as traffic enforcers and temperature checkers at various checkpoints.

“Such a humble act of selflessness is a reminder that the bayanihan spirit is alive and the resilience of the Filipinos is unbendable whatever difficult scenarios arise,” it said.

Macarfa is an agrarian reform cooperative with a total of 41 ARBs and 68 members.

It has a land area of about 70 hectares acquired through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp).
