Central Philippines State University extension campus in Murcia inaugurated

THE extension campus of the Central Philippines State University (CPSU) in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia town was inaugurated Thursday, November 4, 2021.

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who led the inauguration rites with town Mayor Gerry Rojas, said the CPSU is very relevant to the province as it changed the educational landscape of the Negros Island by providing quality and accessible education with a special focus on agriculture.

"The blessing and turnover is a milestone and another step towards the realization of our collective goal to provide free and quality education to the Negrense youth," he said.

The governor also thanked the CPSU management and teaching force for the committed efforts to provide decent and affordable education to the people of Negros Occidental.

Meanwhile, the donor of the school site, Agnes Magsaysay Villar, and Teletech Bacolod were given certificates of appreciation during the program.

The Municipal Government of Murcia also turned over a subsidy check worth P3 million to the CPSU.

Also joining the activity were Third District Representative Francisco Benitez, Murcia Vice Mayor Johnny Reosura and other SB members, and CPSU president Dr. Aladino Moraca, among others. (PR)
