SEVENTY-SIX administrators and personnel of 55 Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools in Negros Occidental attended a forum initiated by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) and Association of Technical Institutions of Negros Occidental (Atino).

The forum held at the President’s Hall of University of Negros Occidental - Recoletos in Bacolod City updated TVET schools of the accomplishments of Atino for 2018.

Tesda also presented its scholarship grants during the forum, which also served as venue to discuss the needs and concerns of TVET schools in the province.

Mary Agnes Capigon of the Department of Labor and Employment - Negros Occidental, who spoke at the forum, discussed the legal bases and procedure of employment facilitation.

Capigon also gave updates on the job opportunities locally and abroad for Tesda graduates.

Tesda-Negros Occidental Director Jimmicio Daoaten, for his part, urged Atino members to plan and work together.

Daoaten also assured schools of the agency’s support on their programs to boost delivery of TVET in the province.

“We are looking forward to a stronger engagement with Technical Vocational Institutions for the best TVET program practices,” he said, urging them to make use of the agency’s tagline “Tesda Abot Lahat” in transforming and uplifting the lives of the poor and underserved communities. (EPN)
