Negros Occidental LGUs get P7.2M in development projects

THE Provincial Government of Negros Occidental has distributed a total of P7.2 million worth of development projects to various local government units (LGUs) in the province.

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson distributed the checks to the punong barangays in rites held at the Provincial Capitol’s Social Hall on Thursday, September 9, 2021.

The recipients included Barangays Balintawak and Dian-ay in Escalante City; Barangays Tiglawigan and Zone IV in Cadiz City; and Barangays San Juan, II - Poblacion, Pandan, General Malvar, Cambarus, Canroma, MH Del Pilar and San Isidro in Pontevedra.

Other recipients were Barangays Cubay, Roberto Benedicto and Batuan in La Carlota City; Barangays Tabunan, Calumanggan in Bago City; Barangays Quiwi, Bato, Paticui, Gargato, Anahaw and Cambugsa in Hinigaran; and Barangay Vista Alegre in Ilog.

The Capitol said the funds will be used for projects such as renovation and improvement of health center, concreting of barangay road, construction of market stalls, rehabilitation of water system and installation of solar street lights.

This will also fund the purchase of multi-purpose vehicles, construction of slope protection, construction of senior citizens’ building and rehabilitation of child development centers in the barangays. (With Capitol reports)
