VICTORIAS Milling Company Inc. (VMC) is hosting the Battle of the Bands competition during the 5th Kalamayan Festival in Victorias City on December 21, at the Victorias public plaza.

This is the second year that VMC will be hosting the band competition as part of their participation in the annual festival which started in 2014 to recognize the contribution of the sugar industry in the growth of the province and with VMC as a major partner of the industry in the past 100 years.

VMC enjoins all local bands to submit sample recordings or video on or before December 15 to get a slot among seven of the best bands that will participate.

Prizes at stake are P30, 000 for the grand champion, P20, 000 for the first runner-up and P10, 000 for third placers.

A minimum of five to a maximum of 12 members is required for participating bands who will perform in under twenty minutes.

VMC is also inviting the public to celebrate Kalamayan Festival with them on that day to cheer for their favorite band.

Last year’s winner, Mojo Nova and Dr. Strings Champion, will perform along with other invited guests.
