MANILA -- Kapamilya network's newest actor Edward Mendez is set to spice up afternoon viewing as he joins "Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Alyna."

The newbie was last seen in the primetime defunct-series "Magkaribal," which was topbilled by Gretchen Barretto and Bea Alonzo.

The model-turned-actor said that he's excited with his role in the series and he will bring something new to the Filipino audience.

"I learned that my role ay potential love interest ni Alyna (played by Shaina Magdayao), so I feel blessed na yung role na gagampanan ko eh, I've been able to do it so far and it's going to be there for awhile." (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
