CENRO Bago, DepEd NegOcc celebrate Earth Day

THE Department of Education Negros Occidental and CENRO Bago City celebrated the 2023 Earth Day with "Pag-Amlig" (Caring) at Sitio Cavan in Barangay Tapong, Pulupandan.

Around 100 participants from both agencies and elementary students from Cavan Elementary School planted a total of 300 mangrove propagules.

Negros Occidental Schools Division Spokesman Ian Arnold Arnaiz, that the department will continue to initiate mangrove and tree growing activities and take their part to restore the environment.

Forester Rosendo Lopez, CENRO - Bago Conservation and Development Section head message to the participants to continue the efforts in return and reminder that there are other initiatives to take care of our planted such as conducting clean-up drives and more.

This year's theme "Invest in Our Planet" envisions that it is necessary that we come together again in partnership for our mother earth.

“Encourage everyone to engage in conserving the environment. A small effort can create a big impact if acted as a whole,” said Lopez. (PR)
