ARTFULL Gallery presents Tey Sevilleno’s 9th solo exhibit called “MONO | POLY” this February and March in celebration of the National Arts Month. This exhibit will be showcasing her recent monochromes and polychromes.

This exhibit includes 15 mosaics, 20 prints from linocut carvings, and 80 paintings in watercolors and gouache.

This is also the first time that Tey is highlighting her love of monochromes in a show. These monochromes are done in black watercolor or gouache and are mostly landscapes and abstracts.

“Making monochromes is like meditation. I love doing them because it helps you to focus on your composition and tonal values. As an artist, it keeps me grounded to the basics and the process itself,” says Sevilleno.

“For the art lovers, there are a lot of artists who make monochromes or paintings done in one color of paint only because it is with this way they can also best express their message through composition. Black and white photographs are mostly revered because of it can evoke emotions through its strong contrasts and visual impact. These are just some reasons why I love doing and looking at monochromes,” adds the artist.

Also included in Mono|Poly are mosaics of vibrant landscapes, and Philippine flora and fauna. Her signature series “Stilts” are also shown in this exhibit.

Tey Sevilleno is the an artist, workshop instructor, writer, and owner of Artfull Gallery in Bacolod City.
