In 2010, Isolde D. Amante became Sun.Star Cebu’s editor-in-chief, after stints as a general assignments reporter, then copy editor, news editor, and managing editor for news.

She worked briefly as a reporter and occasional news anchor with GMA Channel 7 in Cebu and the cooperative-owned The Independent Post, where she was news editor.

She won two Cebu Archdiocesan Mass Media Awards, a citation from the Philippine Press Institute for a special report written with Sun.Star Cebu colleagues, five international fellowships, and a Palanca in 2000 for her short fiction. Isolde finished a master’s degree in Journalism as a fellow of the Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University.
