TRAVEL is essential to learning new culture, cuisines, beautiful tourist spots, and people among others.

Local broadcast journalist and my best friend forever (BFF) Teresa Ellera brought her daughter Danica Therese and Dhels Jaster for a five-day trip to Taiwan to explore and appreciate the place.

Teray’s niece Cheryl Aguilar who works there toured them to various tourist destinations. They were able to visit and have sunset and evening view of Taipei 101, Jiufen, Shifen, and Yehliu, the Pingxi sky lantern experience, night markets, Maokong Gondola cable car, and several others.

“It was fun and educational. It was also the best time to bond with my family. Taiwan is a small country quite similar to the size of Negros island. But it was so modern having very passable road networks. Taiwan has three nuclear plants thus their electricity costs three times less as compared to us. There is no traffic jam as people commute through public buses,” Teray shared.

Danica Therese, her eldest daughter, likes their milk tea while Dhels Jaster was fascinated with the stylish school uniforms of the students who wore jackets.

Their malls and business establishments open at 11 a.m. and the place is so peaceful.

Even if Taiwan is known to be overpopulated, you could hardly see people as most of them are either working or in school.

Overall, our trip to Taiwan was worth it, Teray said.
