Mambukal: Still among Negros Occidental's top tourist spots

Carla N. Canet

IF WE are given a chance to visit tourist sites in the Province of Negros Occidental, our common considerations will always be distance.

Or, others would think whether these destinations would be pleasant to the eyes, and whether going in these locations would be enjoyable for their family and friends.

Of course, the not-so-distant place to consider will include the Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Murcia, which is home to bats and natural hot springs, trees, waterfalls and swimming pools.

One can get there in 30 minutes or so from the province's capital city of Bacolod.

Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena considers Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary, under its rebranded name, to remain as among the tourist sites to visit with its nature-packed ambiance and cool environment, rising on a 1,200 feet above sea-level setting.

The province-owned resort is endowed with beautiful spots being a sanctuary to numerous flora and fauna, which is a perfect spot for nature trekking, hiking to the waterfalls, and bird and bat watching.

It will be a pleasant mood to relax and unwind in this beautiful spot in Murcia, Negros Occidental -- whether you are a domestic or foreign traveler.
