Pugad: A sight to behold in Silay

Carla N. Canet

THE highland of Silay City has a lot to offer in terms of serene sights and spots.

One destination that has been visited often by the Negrense netizens is the Pugad Viewing Deck situated in Barangay Patag, Silay City.

Such a destination presents a variety of perfect sights that are highlighted by the use of bamboos and other indigenous stuff formed either as hanging huts that are spruced with cogon grass and bamboo pieces with bamboo made ladder, tree houses and other adorned seats.

The rainforest marvels at the place with its cold temperature, and sipping a hot brewed coffee with steamed banana and camote makes the adventure enjoyable.

Pugad or bird’s nest can be an excellent place for family and friends. It takes about 40 minutes to drive from Bacolod City going to Barangay Patag.

It’s an uphill ride but exciting as one. The road going there is already concrete.

Mountains and forests can make travel amazing as one would love to see the sights and some even take pictures while the vehicle is in motion.

But if you bring your kids there, you have to supervise them to ensure their safety considering the delicate topography of the place.

But overall, it is a beautiful place to stop by and explore.

Many viewers will surely enjoy your social media exposure through your digital photos and videos.
