THE Rotary Club of Metro Bacolod (RCMB), in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH) under the leadership of Dr. Wende Yap, organized the 5th leg of their vaccination drive anchored on the theme: "Bakuna mo, Proteksyon Ko," to 101 Bacolod residents held at Villa Angela Chapel on February 5, 2022.

This is part of the series of vaccination drives they initiated in 2021 in collaboration with organizations that spread compassion and kindness to their fellowmen.

The RCMB Resbakuna editions were held on various dates on October 3, 2021, which is their 1st leg in collaboration with Davie's Paint where 250 residents were vaccinated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

On October 31, 2021, they held their second leg in collaboratiob with Villa Angela Homeowners Association, DOH, Outdoor Master, Beracah Pharma Phils. Inc. and HEI Gruppo, Inc. that inoculated 63 individuals.

On November 28, 2021, they had their third leg that benefited 156 Bacolodnons who received their first dose of the vaccine, and 22 received their second dose or a total of 178 vaccinees.

On December 20, 2021, they had their fourth leg with 150 people vaccinated, and the fifth leg was held on February 5, 2022, with 101 people inoculated.

Jeinz Salgado, RCMB president, said their club provided an initial pack of vitamins and paracetamol in the recent vaccination drives and served coffee, water, and coffee to those who were vaccinated.

Their coordinators in this vaccination drive were past presidents Renato Monfort and Angelito Dumapi.

"Our club fully supports endeavors that promote public health. We all underwent almost-two-year-old adversities due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” Salgado said.

“Vaccination remains the best option for us to get protected from the risk of employing the virus. Thus we continue to initiate projects that align with public health,” she said.

Salgado added that she had the same protection that she share with her fellowmen through the Covid-19 vaccination.

“We will all overcome this (pandemic) as long as we support each other to fight this virus by helping achieve the target number of vaccinations that will eventually lead to herd immunity," the RCMB president said.

She thanked her fellow club officers, members, volunteer individuals, and organizations that collaborated to make this endeavor possible.
