THE city government of San Carlos officially lighted up the city hall, public plaza and city streets simultaneously during the "Pasko Sa Dakbayan" opening on Friday, December 2 in observance of the Christmas season.

Hundreds of San Carloseños, adults, teens and kids enjoyed the various sceneries, such as the giant Christmas trees, ocean-themed decor and colorful lights that sparkled scenery at the city's different landmarks, and also the Christmas Bazaar in Bonifacio Square that showcases local products.

Local talents and the Pintaflores Dance Company(PDC) performed some of the renowned Christmas songs which also added entertainment to the spectators at the Rizal Square, Public Plaza.

Mayor Renato Gustilo put the star on top of the giant Christmas tree to signal the simultaneous lighting.

“We have survived coronavirus disease (Covid-19) after two and a half years, celebrating Christmas, witnessing the switch on ceremony and watching performances because of the stringent measures of our government and sacrifice of our front liners,” Gustilo said.

He also announced that the city will no longer implement curfews. (PR)
