A MAN died while four others, including two minors, were injured in a multiple-vehicular collision along the Circumferential Road at Bangga Metal in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City Friday, September 7.

Police identified the fatality as Garry Tabafa, 36, of Barangay Cabug.

Also wounded were tricycle driver Jay Uguil, 39; his two children aged five and nine; and motorcycle driver Gregie Paternal, 33, of Barangay Alijis.

Investigation showed that Isuzu tanker truck driver Francisco Bantad Jr., 41, of Murcia town lost control over the vehicle and hit the tricycle boarded by Tabafa and the two minors.

The tricycle, which also hit a motorcycle, was thrown to the opposite lane and hit a Honda Jazz driven by Michael Ginete, 39, of Barangay Taculing.

The tanker truck also hit the back portion of a canter truck driven by Cris Tamayo, 38, of Moises Padilla town.

The motorcycle and the tricycle were at a full stop when the tanker truck suddenly hit the latter.

Paternal was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital while the Uguil family was brought to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center after sustaining injuries.

Bantad is detained at Police Station 7.
