A 31-YEAR-OLD driver was injured after he was shot by two unidentified suspects on board a motorcycle in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022.

Police identified the victim as Kim Ryan Canillo, a resident of Sto. Niño, Barangay Handumanan.

This is the 12th shooting incident that happened in Bacolod City from June 1 to 26, 2022.

Captain Elmer Bonilla, commander of Police Station 7, said Canillo was walking along Bangga Metal in Alijis-Murcia Road while talking to his cellular phone when one of the suspects approached him and fired at him using an unidentified firearm.

He said the gunman then took the victim's cellular phone and fled along with his companion, who was waiting near the area and served as the driver of the motorcycle.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound on the neck and was brought to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, where he is now recuperating.

Bonilla said they are still conducting further investigation to determine the motive and identity of the suspects.
