2 dead in stabbing

TWO persons died in separate stabbing incidents in Negros Occidental on June 23.

In Ilog town, Joepel Gersalia, 24, of Barangay Tabu, was allegedly stabbed to death by a certain Noning Lindayao, Moliboy Lindayao, and Junior Lindayao, all residents of Cauayan town, who all fled from the scene.

Police recovered from the scene a nine-inch kitchen knife.

Gersalia is rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have yet to establish the motive.

In Talisay City, a heated argument about passengers triggered a barker to stabbed jeepney driver Camilo Malan, 58, at a gasoline station in Barangay Zone 12.

Investigation showed that Malan allegedly threw stones at suspect Romeo Pulido, 74, when the latter continued to help passengers in riding the vehicle despite Malan’s warning.

A verbal altercation ensued between them that resulted in a fistfight until Pulido got a bladed weapon and stabbed Malan several times.

Malan was brought to Talisay City Health Center, where he later died.
