2 drug suspects nabbed; 'shabu' seized in Negros Occidental

TWO drug suspects were arrested in the cities of Silay and Bacolod, Negros Occidental over the weekend from whom recovered 13 sachets of suspected shabu Saturday, November 12.

The police said the total value of the recovered contrabands weighing about 28 grams was P189,000.

Operatives of Silay police arrested Amir Apinan, 54, of Paradise in the city’s Barangay Rizal around 3 p.m. and recovered nine sachets of the illegal substance.

The buy-bust money amounting to P3,100 and other non-illegal drug-related items were also recovered from Apinan, who is listed as a street-level individual, the police said.

Eight hours later, Bacolod City Police Station 8 also arrested Roland Benit, 53, of Purok Villa Esperanza in Barangay Sincang-Airport with four sachets of suspected shabu valued at P47,000.

Both suspects are now detained at the jail facilities of Police Station 8 and Silay City police while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.
