Sunnexdesk

TWO persons were injured after they sustained minor burns in a fire that destroyed five houses and damaged six others at Purok Paloma, Barangay 16, Bacolod City, on Tuesday, June 5.

Chief Inspector Publio Doctora Ploteña, fire marshal of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Bacolod City, identified the victims as Benjie Valladolid and Vicente Fortuna.

Ploteña said these victims went to his office the following day, and reported they sustained first degree burns.

Ploteña said the fire started at the house of Cecilia Ballesteros around 11:33 p.m. due to a faulty electrical wiring.

It immediately spread to the neighboring houses made of light materials.

The fire was put out after an hour and left an estimated damage of P150,000.

Meanwhile, the BFP distributed fire extinguishers to public schools yesterday, June 6, as part of their fire safety and prevention measures since the opening of classes. (GYM)
