2 snatchers arrested in Bacolod

TWO snatchers were arrested by operatives of Police Station 6 along Araneta Street, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City Tuesday evening, February 5.

Police identified the suspects as Ronnei Yalon, and Remeo Mesa, both residents of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said the suspects were arrested after they snatched the cellular phone of Florence May Catacata around 10 p.m.

Investigation showed the victim was walking along Araneta Street when the suspects, who were on board a motorcycle, snatched her cellular phone and fled.

While fleeing, Pico said the suspects accidentally bumped a pedestrian in the area and they were mobbed by bystanders and were arrested by police.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession an iPhone worth P20,000 owned by Catacata, and Rusi motorcycle.

Pico said the suspects, who were positively identified by the victim, were detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 6 and facing theft charges. (MAP)
