TWO suspects are being eyed by Police Station 5 personnel in the brutal killing of a suspected illegal drug peddler whose body was found at the public cemetery of Barangay Granada in Bacolod City Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Police Station 5 commander Captain John Christopher Magsangkay said they received vital information that could lead to the resolution of the murder of Darwin Nuñez, 22, of Purok Pedring, Barangay Estefania in the city.

Nuñez was found dead on top of a tomb with a slit on his throat and protruded intestines past 2 p.m. Wednesday.

His 18-year-old neighbor, whose name is being withheld, told the police that they went to the cemetery around 9 p.m. Tuesday to sell marijuana to an unidentified man.

He said as they were about to leave, the man asked Nuñez to accompany him inside the cemetery, claiming he might have dropped his wallet.

The man also promised Nuñez that he would give him an extra amount of money after they found his wallet, the teenager said, adding that he later heard the victim shouting, “wala ko to ya (I didn't do it).”

Thinking that it was a buy-bust operation, the teenager sped off his motorcycle and found out the next day that Nuñez failed to go home, Magsangkay said.
