TWENTY-ONE persons were injured after a minibus overtook a truck along the national highway of Barangay Mabini, Valladolid, Negros Occidental Thursday, May 24.

All victims were adults.

Investigation showed that 69-year-old Rolando Llenado of Himamaylan City was driving the bus on its way to Bacolod City when it avoided a truck he was tailing.

However, he did not notice a road that is under rehabilitation and swerved the vehicle to the right portion of the highway. It fell on a canal.

All victims sustained minor injuries and were brought to a hospital.

Senior Inspector Junji Liba, town police chief, said it depends on the victims' family if they will pursue charges against the bus driver. (GYM)
