THREE people died while two others were injured following a hit-and-run incident involving a car and two pedicabs along the national highway of Barangay Bubog in Talisay City Tuesday morning, September 24.

Police identified the fatalities as Celsa Marabulas, 57; Jason Mendoza, 24; and Archie Castillio, 31, all are residents of the said city.

Two other victims, identified as Rutchil Marabulas, 23, and Rollin Diasanta, 36, suffered minor injuries.

Talisay City police traffic investigator, Police Master Sergeant Michael McDowell, said the two pedicabs were tailing one another when the car driven by 28-year-old Feb Dharel Medina rammed the two vehicles.

Instead of helping out the victims, Medina allegedly sped away heading south.

Three of the victims died on the spot due to the fatal injuries they sustained, while the two others were rushed by local bystanders to the local health clinic for medical treatment.

A few hours after the incident, Talisay police arrested Medina in his residence in Barangay Zone 2 also in Talisay City. Police also recovered the vehicle which was covered by a tarp.

Appropriate charges could be filed against Medina for the incident who is now detained at the Talisay City Police Station.
