3 major Capitol projects to operate in June

GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson assured that three major projects of the Provincial Government will be operational on June this year.

The projects includes the Mambukal Convention Hotel, Negros Residences, and the Pala-pala Food Terminal.

Lacson said the delay in the completion of the Pala-pala Food Terminal is due to the problem on the overlapping of properties and problem on informal settlers. In fact he said it was only during the road clearing operation which was ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte that the problem on informal settlers was solved and the area was cleared.

The original contract with the Negros residences contractor on the other hand was already done, but Lacson revealed that there are new jobs like the tiles, airconditioning system and electricity are being installed.

Additional works which are not part of the original contract also caused the delay at Mambukal Convention Hotel after a portion of the hotel’s parapet collapsed.

But Lacson added that the said projects which are under the Economic Enterprise and Development Department will be operational in June. (TDE)
