35 persons nabbed for violating health protocols

A TOTAL of 35 persons in Bacolod City were arrested by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on Thursday, July 2, 2020, for violating health protocols in the campaign against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said the violators were arrested by personnel of Police Stations 1, 2, 4, 5 and 10 for not wearing face masks and not observing physical distancing.

He said of 35 violators, 21 were arrested by personnel of Police Station 5.

The violators will be charged for violation of Article 151 of Revised Penal Code for disobedience to persons of authority, in relation to Executive Order No. 35.

Meanwhile, a theft suspect was arrested by a security guard for stealing assorted goods inside KJMart on Hilado Street, Barangay 20, Bacolod City Friday morning.

Police identified the suspect as Joel Garcia, 59, of Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod.

Pico said the suspect was arrested by security guard Ranie Regner, 25, after he was caught in the act of stealing assorted goods worth P237 inside the establishment at around 6:26 a.m.

The suspect was endorsed to Police Station 4 and is facing theft charges.
