A TOTAL of 332 policemen and 48 non-uniformed personnel (NUPs) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) underwent a random drug test at the headquarters on November 14.

Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, public information officer of BCPO, said Thursday, November 15, the test was part of the intensified internal cleansing of the police organization.

Participants from all 10 police stations and other units as well as those assigned at the headquarters submitted their urine samples for the test facilitated by the Provincial Crime Laboratory.

This is the fourth drug test conducted among the BCPO personnel and NUPs, Gabana said.

Results of the recent drug test will come out upon the availability of the chemist at the crime laboratory.

Gabana said only one BCPO personnel was tested positive for drug use during the previous drug tests.

But the said policeman already went absent without official leave (AWOL) after he was reassigned to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit (RPHAU) in Iloilo City because of his offense. (GYM)
