4 cities in Negros get SGLG awards

FOUR cities in Negros Occidental won this year's Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

Based on the list of SGLG Awardees posted on the website of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the province of Aklan was the lone awardee from Western Visayas in the provincial category.

Aside from Aklan, five cities and 12 municipalities from Western Visayas were adjudged winners, based on the list signed by DILG Secretary Eduardo Año.

For city category, adjudged as winners were the cities of Bacolod, San Carlos, Silay and Victorias from Negros Occidental and Passi from Iloilo province.

For the municipality category, the winners are Banga, Buruanga, Ibajay and New Washington from Aklan; Barbaza, Caluya and San Jose de Buenavista from Antique; Dao, Dumarao and Jamindan from Capiz and Anilao and Zarraga from Iloilo province.

No municipality from Negros Occidental won for the 2019 SGLG Awards.
