93 percent of Western Visayas PDLs vaxxed against Covid-19

 Adrian P. Nemes III

ABOUT 93 percent of persons deprived of liberty (PDL) in Western Visayas had been vaccinated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19), an official of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Western Visayas said.

Lawyer Jairus Anthony Dogelio told SunStar Bacolod, however, that data is not yet available as to how many PDLs in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City have been vaccinated.

Dogelio said only those who were committed to various jail facilities in Western Visayas were not yet vaccinated.

He said their campaign to inoculate more PDLs in the region continues in cooperation with the different local government units.

Dogelio added that almost 99 percent of BJMP personnel all over the region has been vaccinated already.

BJMP-Western Visayas records showed that only about 30 of its personnel in the region are yet to receive their jabs.
