ISABELA Mayor Joselito Malabor said all is set for the second Ati-Bukidnon Tumandok Festival slated on April 21 to 27.

But prior to the fiesta, Malabor said a series of medical missions will be held at the covered court. This will be on February 24, March 17, and April 9. It is seen to cater 30 barangays in the locality.

Malabor said this year’s fiesta will be highlighted with sports events like the Super League Table Tennis national tournament as well as basketball and volleyball games.

He added there will also be the street dancing arena competition that highlights the indigenous people's tribal dance and practices. This will be participated by the six high schools in the town.

Malabor said that the fiesta is geared to give recognition to the indigenous communities in the locality.

So far, there are eight indigenous communities in the town and four more are being organized, he added.

Malabor said 30 percent of the town's population are indigenous people.

Meanwhile, Malabor said that the municipal government is also bracing for the Holy Week celebration next month and the Panaad Festival in April.

He said they are expecting more pilgrims will be going to the Holy Mountain where the 40 feet giant cross is situated.

He added that a cleanup drive will be conducted in the area as well as in the natural trail. (PR)
