FOR allegedly spreading gossips against her, a 16-year-old Alternative Learning System (ALS) student stabbed to death her 17-year-old cousin at Barangay Cabacungan in La Castellana town, Negros Occidental at about 5 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Town police chief Captain Rhojn Darell Nigos said the suspect, whose name is being withheld for being a minor, was accompanied by her father when she surrendered to the police a few hours after she committed the crime.

Investigation showed that the suspect invited her cousin to walk in going home to Sitio Dama with her but they went to a secluded area instead.

“A commotion took place between the two of them where the suspect confronted the victim about the alleged gossip the latter is reportedly spreading against her,” Nigos said.

Using a knife which she kept, the suspect told the police that she repeatedly stabbed her cousin and fled, Nigos added.

The police official noted that they will check if the suspect was alone when she committed the crime or whether someone asked her to do it.

The victim’s body will be autopsied to check if she only had stab wounds or she also suffered head injuries.
