THE Philippine Army in Negros Occidental said there will be no ceasefire with the New People's Army (NPA) on Holy Week.

Brigadier General Benedict Arevalo, commander of the 303rd Brigade based in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, said all of their units will continue their combat operations against the rebels in order to not give them a chance to conduct any atrocities against the local populace.

Arevalo said they are now preparing their security plans for the observance of the Holy Week, which will start on Sunday, April 14.

The general has also requested the public to remain vigilant for any suspicious individuals in their area.

Arevalo said the police can request for their assistance in securing transport terminals if needed and they have available K-9 units on stand-by.
