Sunnexdesk

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) warned the public against fake and prohibited firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices this holiday season.

Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, acting director of BCPO, said buyers of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices should only purchase items from authorized dealers with a proper label.

He added if it’s from a legitimate manufacturer, a name, address, and warning instruction should be visible on the product.

Ebreo said they should only buy products with Philippine Standard mark from the Department of Trade and Industry.

Unauthorized dealers will be charged under the law, Ebreo said.

The city police office also issued a list of prohibited firecrackers. These are watussi, piccolo, super lolo, atomic triangle, large judas belt, large bawang, pillbox, boga, goodbye Philippines, bin laden, motor rockets, lolo thunder, kwiton, atomic bomb, pla-pla, coke in can, og, giant whistle bomb, kabasi, five star, and other unlabeled fireworks.

Ebreo said the only designated area in Bacolod to sell firecrackers is beside the Pope John Paul Tower in the Reclamation area in Barangay 12. (GYM)
