Bacolod council honors Hofileña for topping board exam

THE Bacolod City Council has approved a resolution congratulating Carl Angelo M. Hofileña for placing 9th in the March 2023 Physicians Licensure Examination.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Em Ang, was approved during the regular session of the City Council on Wednesday afternoon, March 22.

Ang said Hofileña, who was born and raised in Bacolod and resides in Barangay 20, has brought honor and prestige to this city by passing the March 2023 Physicians Licensure Examination with a rating of 86.83 percent and placing 9th among 2,887 examinees.

She said Hofileña graduated as valedictorian from the College of Medicine at West Visayas State University in 2021.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod as his pre-medical course and received his secondary education from St. John’s Institute.

Ang said Hofileña is also a postgraduate from Batch 2022 at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

She said that Hofileña is a living statement that anybody can excel academically at any given time when you only put enough time, effort, and determination into their studies.
