A 66-YEAR-OLD detainee at Police Station 2 in Bacolod City has been tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Police Captain Leo Estopa, chief of Police Station 2, said in Aksyon Radyo interview that the detainee was already transferred to the city’s quarantine facility at Andres Bonifacio Elementary School (ABES).

“He was complaining that he’s not feeling well so we brought him to a hospital, but he was not admitted because the hospital already reached its full capacity. He underwent a swab test where he tested positive for the virus,” he said.

Estopa added the remaining 18 detainees also underwent swab tests and they are still waiting for the result.

Estopa noted they will still allow the family of the detainees to bring them food, but they need to follow the health protocols inside the station.

Moreover, one of the four policemen at Police Station 2 who earlier tested positive for Covid-19 already recovered.

Estopa said one of his personnel had already recovered while three of them are still at the quarantine facility.

He said eight of his personnel also underwent swab tests and they are still waiting for the results.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
