Bacolod opens application for scholarship program

THE City of Bacolod welcomes applicants for a scholarship program of the city this year.

Maria Rebecca Balicas, head of Public Employment Services Office (Peso), said they will hold its qualifying examination on May 9 at the MassKara Hall in Bacolod City Government Center.

The examination will start at 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Balicas said this year, they will accept an additional of 300 scholars, who can enroll in private colleges or universities and Bacolod City College in Bacolod.

“We have an existing of 375 scholars and we will accept an additional of 300 scholars,” she said.

Peso already received more than 500 applicants, who are all residents of Bacolod City.

“This program aims to help the qualified and deserving students to reach their dream to finish their college,” Balicas disclosed.
