THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized P3.2 million worth of illegal drugs from 50 operations it conducted between November 1 to 30, an official said.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said they confiscated about 472.308 grams of suspected shabu valued at P3, 211, 694.

The drug operations also led to the arrest of three high-value individuals (HVIs) and 63 street-level individuals (SLIs), Gabana said.

He added that they already filed 79 cases in court for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Aside from its illegal drugs campaign, BCPO also arrested a total of 56 persons with pending arrest warrants.

Of the number, 16 were most wanted personalities while the rest were charged with various offenses.

In the campaign against loose firearms, the BCPO conducted 15 operations where three suspects with homemade guns were arrested, while seven homemade firearms, an explosive device, three short firearms and 76 live ammunition were also voluntarily surrendered.

Gabana said they also intensified their operations against illegal gambling in various areas of Bacolod City, which led to the arrest of 36 individuals and confiscation of P8,100 in bet money.

BCPO Acting Director Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, who personally supervises the operations, commended the operating units and its personnel for a "job well done" in their intensified effort to lessen criminality.

Martir reminded its personnel to always do their mandated task with all their passion and to make the people of the city assured of their safety.
