BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said that he will provide food packs to families affected by lockdown in various barangays of the city.

Gasataya said Thursday, August 6, 2020, from July, they already provided food packs to almost 900 families affected by the lockdown.

He said they also requested the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWS) to provide separate food packs to affected families.

“We are coordinating with the barangay officials for the distribution of food assistance to ensure that those who were affected will have enough food because some of them were also unprepared that their place was sealed off,” he added.

Gasataya noted that since July, some puroks in 20 barangays in Bacolod, where the Covid-19 positive patients lived, were sealed off.

These areas include some puroks in Barangays Mansilingan, Bata, Estefania, Punta Taytay, Pahanocoy, Singcang-Airport, 26, Banago, Tangub and 12.

As of August 5, Bacolod City has a total of 332 Covid-19 cases, of which 70 are recoveries, 254 are active cases and eight are deaths.
