Bacolod-Silay airport, north bus terminal negative for illegal drugs

THE Bacolod-Silay Airport and Ceres North Terminal are negative for illegal drugs in an intensified K9 sweeping operation held on December 2, 2020, by the elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Negros Occidental Provincial Office (PDEA-NOCPO).

The operation primarily focused on the waybill section. This area is responsible for mail, parcel and cargo logistics at the Ceres Bus Terminal, PDEA-Negros Occidental said.

After the North Terminal inspection, the PDEA interdiction team proceeded to the warehouse of the new Bacolod-Silay Airport, where Narcotics Detection Dog (NDD) "Loppy" along with his K9 handler inspected cargo and parcels at the cargo warehouse of the airport.

The said operation was part of PDEA-NOCPO's effort in reducing the demand and deter illegal drug activities,.PDEA said.

The operation is also done in order to prevent the possible ingress and egress of prohibited drugs in the province of Negros Occidental.

Covid-19 protocols and guidelines were strictly followed throughout the inspection.

The said operation yielded negative for the presence of dangerous drugs, controlled precursors and essential chemicals, PDEA added.
