THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has awarded four top performing police officials and a non-commissioned officer who contributed to the success of the Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration last July.

The awarding rites led by BCPO Director Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir was held during the closing ceremony of the 27th PCR Month at the BCPO Headquarters on Monday, August 1.

This year’s theme is "Ugnayang Pulisya at Komunidad Tungo sa Mapayapa, Maayos at Maunlad na Pamayanan."

Awarded were Lieutenant Colonel Sherlock Gabana, chief of Community Affairs And Development Unit (Cadu); Lieutenant Liberty Indiape, deputy chief of Cadu, for their exemplary performance in the community relation activities.

Captain Elmer Bonilla, commander of Police Station 7, was awarded as best Cadu police-commissioned officer; and Corporal Gladys Mansinares, of Bacolod City Mobile Force Company, as best Cadu police non-commissioned officer.

Captain John Christopher Masangkay, commander of Police Station 5, was also awarded for his accomplishment in the campaign against illegal drugs.

Martir lauded the accomplishment of its personnel and encouraged them to do more in the drive to make the police closer to the people.

Martir, in a statement, said the BCPO along with its supportive and active stakeholders continue to work hand in hand for a safe place to live in Bacolod City.

The BCPO, he said, also actively takes part in the activities that help the community in civic actions and outreach programs for those who need the basic services of the government.

For this year’s PCR Month celebration, the BCPO conducted several activities such as bike for a cause, gift-giving and children’s fun fares, bloodletting, refresher seminars for force multipliers and basic life support training.

As the partnership with local government agencies, non-government organization and other generous stakeholders strengthens, they are hopeful for a more vigorous and attainable undertakings not only during the PCR month but in all regular endeavors of the Philippine National Police with the community, he added.*
